Williamstown Savings Bank
Williamstown, MA
This project involved the addition of a second floor over the main section of this brick and steel bank. Chapter 34 requirements, and the fact that the bank had to remain in operation, dictated special structural designs to support the new work without overloading the existing masonry supports. The steel roof trusses had to be gutted to allow use of this space for a second floor. Steel interceptor beams had to be installed to provide the needed support before the truss components could be removed.
