Daigle Engineers, Inc. provided structural analysis/ design and construction review services for Johnson Controls and the Town of Chelmsford for nine town owned buildings including eight public schools and the main DPW building.

The project consisted of approximately 2 MW of solar PV panels on ballasted roof mounts. Thorough code evaluation and roof capacity analyses were required to justify the added array weight. Some of the building candidates had to be eliminated or arrays partially reduced during the feasibility study stages. Some of the buildings required minor roof reinforcing and repairs. The town wide energy efficiency project total cost was approximately $18M.
