Daigle Engineers, Inc. provided structural design and construction review services for the new addition at Teleflex Medical in Jaffrey, NH.
The new 14,000 square foot addition included a four story 71 foot tall extrusion / drying tower, a two story manufacturing and storage space, stair tower and elevator. The project also included renovations to the existing facility and towers. Further challenges included support of a 72,000 lb. oxidizer unit on the new tower roof and reinforcing the existing roof for snow drift and new mechanical equipment.
New construction included challenging foundation design, underpinning of existing foundations, steel braced and moment frames, composite steel framing with concrete slabs, metal deck, light gauge metal stud walls and metal siding.
The roughly $4.5 million project was completed in about ten months.
